Ces esp\u00e8ces (sardinelles, chinchards, maquereaux, anchois) jouent un r\u00f4le vital pour la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 alimentaire et \u00e9conomique du S\u00e9n\u00e9gal. Les campagnes d\u2019\u00e9cho-prospection men\u00e9es par le centre permettent d\u2019estimer leur biomasse, de suivre leur \u00e9volution et de fournir aux d\u00e9cideurs des informations scientifiques fiables pour une gestion durable.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Le CRODT, pionnier en Afrique de l\u2019Ouest en \u00e9valuation hydroacoustique\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">L\u2019hydroacoustique est pratiqu\u00e9e au S\u00e9n\u00e9gal depuis les ann\u00e9es 1970, avec les campagnes CAP et Echosar r\u00e9alis\u00e9es \u00e0 bord du <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">N\/O Capricorne<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> dans le cadre de programmes conjoints entre l\u2019ORSTOM (aujourd\u2019hui IRD) et le CRODT. \u00c0 partir de 1983, le pays a men\u00e9 ses propres prospections avec le <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">N\/O Laurent Amaro<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, puis le <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">N\/O Louis Sauger<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> et enfin le <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">N\/O Itaf Deme<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.
